Meta Names Creative Industry Exec Scott Kokotan As Chief Financial Officer
IOWA CITY, July 25, 2016 – MetaCommunications, Inc. the leading provider of smart planning and project management software for marketing and creative teams, today announced the appointment of Scott Kokotan as Chief Financial Officer. Kokotan will oversee all elements of the company’s finance and administrative operations. Previously Kokotan served as the CFO and Vice Chairman for IMM, LLC, a privately-held advertising agency.
“Scott is an incredibly talented finance leader and we’re delighted that he’s joining Meta’s team” said Meta CEO Bob Long. “The finance function is critical for a fast-growing, innovative software company like Meta. Scott has proven that he knows how to help companies grow while strengthening the infrastructure needed to scale. His skills mixed with his inside knowledge of the marketing and creative industry make him the perfect fit for Meta.”
Kokotan began his financial career in accounting, consulting and investing before making the switch to lead a high-growth software, technology and social media firm. As President and CFO of Wasinger Tech in Overland Park, Kansas, he facilitated the growth and expansion of the company through the development and launch of new products and services and strategic process improvement. From there, Kokotan went on to lead Boulder-based IMM as CFO and Vice Chairman. At IMM, he grew the advertising agency from 40 to 115 people and more than doubled billings in just three years.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Meta,” said Kokotan. “Meta has built out a talented team and a suite of products that help clients drive efficiencies through their end-to-end workflow. As a veteran of operations in the advertising world, I understand the value of Meta’s software solutions and I believe there is a huge market opportunity for our products. I’m pleased to help lead the company at a very pivotal time.”
Kokotan’s hiring rounds out Meta’s executive team and continues the company’s strong period of growth. Earlier this year, the company opened an Austin sales office and expanded its U.S.-based workforce with 26 new hires over the last three months. The expansion has been fueled by increasing demand for Meta’s unique solutions. Their flagship product, Workgroups DaVinci is an award-winning, all-in-one software platform used by marketing and creative teams to plan, execute and track campaigns and projects. Meta’s newest release, ProofMe is a web-based platform allows anyone, anywhere to gather real-time feedback on PDF, image and video files.
